I am completely fluent in English and Spanish. I read, write, and speak both languages. Due to these skills, I can provide the best coaching to learn a language quickly. At home, growing up, Spanish was spoken exclusively among family and friends. I grew up in New York City and graduated from the City University of New York with a degree in mechanical engineering. Motivated to use my language skills, I traveled to Columbia, where I was born, and did business throughout Central and South America. I also visited Italy, France, and Spain for leisure. I have become skilled in the lingual and cultural differences among Spanish-speaking countries. For example, the language on the Caribbean islands is different than the Spanish spoken in Cuba and Puerto Rico. I have immense pride and love for my native Spanish, and feel that the Spanish of Columbia is a proper, Castilian-quality Spanish understood by all Spanish speaking regions. Due to my travels, I started learning Brazilian Portuguese. I was also led to learn French. Now, due to my passion for languages and world culture, I speak Portuguese, Spanish, English, and French. I enjoy teaching others and empowering them to speak Spanish. As a tutor, I am patient and highly motivated, and would enjoy helping you learn Spanish.
