Experience
I have over nine years of teaching experience. I studied writing and rhetoric at Florida Atlantic University, and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English. I also got my Master of Education (K-12) at FAU. I'm certified to teach middle and high school aged students. I will soon complete a certification to teach reading. I also have taught test prep to high school students. I currently tutor students in reading, writing, and test preparation. I specifically excel at teaching the SAT, PSAT, and EOCT, alongside AP exams and Florida and Georgia writing exams. I believe in affirming students' individual talents and strengths, and by doing this, it builds up a relationship of trust. When students have confidence from a teacher providing positive feedback, they are much more likely to go on to achieve great things. In my teaching, I tend to avoid criticism, give lots of praise, and accentuate the positive. In my personal time, I like to travel and experience new cultures. I had the amazing opportunity of teaching English literature and writing in China a few years ago. I also like to read, write poetry, volunteer for a local animal rescue organization, meditate, and hike.
